Rehabilitation and purification project Kiryat Shmona | Ein Zahav Park
This project was the first flag project in Israel of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, which was planned and carried out by Water for Nature.
This project involved the first creation of a stream in Israel which has a biological filter with high flow rates for the purification of runoff, flowing from the polluting industrial zone of Kiryat Shmona. The area of the park is about 100 dunams, including streams over 2 km and a lake that spreads over 5 dunams.
We moved the water into the grove after creating a new and healthy 1.5 km long stream. Using the first water purification system in Israel, we cleaned the stream from pollutants and the clean water now flows to the Sea of Galilee.
